Baby, it’s cold outside

winter owls

Brrrrr! Winter has officially arrived and we are taking this opportunity to explore some fun winter-themed activities at Tudorka Tots!

At Campus Dr., preschoolers are starting to notice the weather changing and that it’s getting colder. They are learning about places that snow and even made snowflakes yesterday! The toddlers painted their snowflakes, while the preschoolers cut out their own.

Preschoolers also decorated igloos and read the story, “Ice is Nice” by Bonnie Worth.

Here are some photos:

Meanwhile, did you know Mountain Blvd. had a snow day yesterday? Yep, even in California!

Ms. Crystal helped students make instant snow. They made igloos and snow people, and read the book, “The Snowy Day” by Ezra Jack Keats to connect the activity with the changing weather.

Here is the “recipe” for the instant snow, too. (You’ll never guess what the secret ingredient is…)

And here are some photos:

Other books we’re reading about winter:

“Bear Snores On” by by Karma Wilson and Jane Chapman

“Snow Rabbit, Spring Rabbit” by by Il Sung Na

“Strega Nona’s Gift” by Tomie dePaola

Have a great week!

Hello, hello!

As you know, we are lovers of music at Tudorka Tots. Both campuses enjoy a weekly music class with Ms. Carmen. Children learn new songs and enjoy moving their bodies and playing with different types of noise makers. Here are some photos of students with Ms. Carmen at our Campus Dr. site.

In other news, have you ever heard of Főzelék? Well, if you haven’t, it’s possible that your Tudorka Tots have!

And they love it!

Főzelék is a traditional type of Hungarian dish. Our chef Ms. Susan makes it for our students. Read more about it here:

A thank you message from Ms. Renata

Yesterday, Ms. Renata celebrated a very special birthday. She wanted to pass along a note of thanks and tell you a little about her day.

“I would like to thank all the friends and family who wished me a Happy Birthday. Some who called first thing in the morning (my mom), and some who texted or messaged me and posted on Facebook. It brought tears to my eyes and a smile to my face. I feel truly blessed.

Here is how I spent my day:

I took the day off from work. 🙂

I finally had the energy to take a Daily Method Bar class, followed by running the lake. Thank God for healing my back.

Then I took a nap and woke up right before I had to pick up Athena! LOL.

Lastly, we had a nice dinner with my kiddos. And don’t laugh, I almost walked out in two different boots they looked alike!

Here is to a fun-filled day!”

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MS. RENATA!

And for some more not-so-spooky Halloween adventures, a few pics of students from Mountain Blvd. painting their pumpkins!
